It is pleasing to see that Lillian B. Gilmour (Lola Belle Shackelford) demonstrated her interest in music long, long ago, that her legacy inspires and assists young musicians in the Kansas City area today, ... AND that the Kansas City Musical Club remains active in encouraging young people to learn how to make and to listen to music.
In late 2008, the Kansas City Musical Club received a generous bequest of $25,000 from the Lillian B. Gilmour estate. The final grants from the Gilmour bequest were awarded in the spring of 2016.
