Notable Scholarship Winners

The Kansas City Musical Club is proud to have played a part in the early stages of the careers of the following musicians who were recipients of our scholarship program.  The individuals below are some of those who have become well-recognized performers or contributors to the musical scene, not only in  Kansas City, but nationally and internationally.
 

Vinson Cole -- voice/opera in US and abroad, recently made tenured professor of voice at UMKC

Diane Schick -- flute/piccolo in Kansas City Symphony

Cynthia Siebert --piano, now concert manager of Friends of Chamber Music Series in  Kansas City

Diane Walker -- voice/opera

David Okerlund -- voice/opera,  San Francisco and elsewhere

David Wehr -- piano, concertized, now teaches; also winner in National Federation of Music Clubs

Elizabeth Suh (Lane) -- violin, played in  London orchestra; retired in  Kansas City

Mark Lowry -- percussion, K.C. Symphony and many other local venues

Sylvia Stoner -- voice, Lyric Opera roster

Elaine Fox -- voice, Lyric Opera roster

Cameron Dibble --piano, UMKC professor

Un Chong Yi Christopher -- piano/voice/opera, faculty at William Jewell, Rockhurst, UMKC

Patricia Johnson -- voice/opera in US and abroad

Jennifer Linn -- composition, active composer (lives in  St. Louis)

Janie Ohmes -- voice/opera throughout US and now local
