Records show that scholarships were offered as early in the club's history as 1929. Since 1966, well over $175,000 has been awarded to college level artists and some high school students. In recent years, the club has held auditions and awarded 7 to 12 scholarships each year, averaging a total of $7,000. Currently, awards are given to promising college and graduate student musicians from the metropolitan area following a professionally judged audition process.
Scholarship funds are raised through endowments, donations, and memorials. All contributions are tax-deductible.
2025 Scholarship Auditions were held March 8, 2025, at Asbury UMC. There were 24 pre-qualified and scheduled applicants from local colleges. Eight winners were chosen and a total of $8,000 was awarded.
Here are Kansas City Musical Club's Scholarship Awards for recent years. (Due to Covid-19 precautions, no Scholarships were awarded in 2021 and scholarship funds were carried forward.)
